Common Loons (Gavia immer)
This Loon pair had been on the nest incubating eggs the day before.
When I saw them together on the lake I assumed they had some egg trouble.
They tried nesting again with the same result. Better luck next year.
I imagine captions of "I thought YOU were on the nest!" or "Quit steppin' on the eggs!"
